Mistakes
Today was a day that was full of mistakes.
Which I guess is normal, since I have just finished two large drawings the day before last. I think what next and then I start scribbling and sketching and then I am so freaking burned out but I think I can push through it but I know, you know. I know. I know I should stop and rest and ride out the tired and then I can start again.
But I am dramatic and often swing into panic mode. If I can’t paint/ draw/ make a master piece today – then I never will!
So I keep on going and then I stuffed up two drawings. TWO. Just test drawings but still, it’s nice paper and I feel bad. Also one was of my daughter, I ruined it by going a little too crazy shading in her back and that just made it all the more WORSE. It actually looks quite ugly and I’m like HOW CAN YOU DO THAT TO A DRAWING OF YOUR DAUGHTER WHO IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING ON THIS EARTH! YOU ARE SO EVIL.
Mother guilt seeps into the art.
So I went out for lunch and angrily drank tea and then did the groceries and the laundry and I have salvaged the part of the drawing I didn’t ruin and have now expressed myself in words here and tomorrow is a new day.

Paper trip!
I am in desperate need for new paper – so we shuffled things about and came into Melbourne town so I could get paper:
The people at Melbourne Etching Supplies were so helpful, I’ve come away with a new packet of paper that I cannot wait to get home and begin work on. I’ve been doing a lot of drawing practice and sketching over this last week and have a few solid ideas that need to be realised and soon.. before I explode!

Finished.
I finished the large drawing last night. I deleted my twitter account this morning. These both feel very good.
Domestic scenes and self portraits
The above is a blind continuous line drawing of cat and plants on the windowsill in my studio. I thought kids were hard to draw, but cats – woah. They don’t even stay still in their sleep!
^Time Out^
I did this drawing of my daughter in time out the other day. Time out is such an amazing way of getting her to calm down and think of her actions. I highly, highly recommend it.
This is me trapped to the back end of the house while waiting for my daughter to actually go to sleep. Night time routine is probably the bane of my existence.
This is me after I think she has gone to sleep and I’ve been watching Jimeoin talking about Beyoncé doing her house hold chores. I love comedy, I am pretty sure it has saved me.
