Gene Hammond-Lewis

I am a video editor, compositor and visual effects artist from Melbourne, Australia. In January 2000 I began my career in the film and Television industry as an assistant editor at MRPPP Melbourne. I quickly moved up in the company to become an editor and motion graphic designer, and then Flame artist.

In 2003 I accepted a position at Iloura as a Henry Infinity and Flame operator. After a year at Iloura I went freelance. In this time I worked throughout Australia, for companies such as Tide, The Directors Group, Photon Digital, First Light, George Patterson Y&R, Digital Pictures, MRPPP and Iloura; as well as at VHQ Singapore. I did
wire/rig removal work on the
film Seven Swords, visual effects
on films Macbeth and Catch a Fire,
as well as the television series
Nightmares and Dreamscapes.

In 2007 I returned to MRPPP Melbourne
for 18 months as a Flame artist and
Editor, and also occasionally worked in
their Sydney office, until moving to
Europe with my wife, where I have
worked for BBC Wales and Dragon DI.
