Myspace removed three of my drawings today as they were “violating the terms and conditions” of of this site.
This isn’t the first time this has happened and I think it is quite pathetic. The images in question are “Scream 1″, “Scream 2″ “Scream 3″ which are all self portrait drawings of me in the nude. They are clearly drawings. They are not sexual or explicit in anyway. People should be intelligent enough to be able to distinguish nudity from sexuality, and if they can’t, I doubt they are looking at my work. And the excuse of ‘children’ using this site may see this, is ridiculous. You really think that a couple of drawings is going to corrupt their little minds. Pretty insulting to teenagers and myself.
The amount of tits and gore and artwork that is sexually explicit on myspace is out of control. Yet they manage to catch mine? If someone out there has an issue with my work, talk to me about it. Maybe if you knew what it was about, you could understand it. It’s not going to go away. And if people, even thirteen year olds, want to see my work, they can easily access it on the internet.
No wonder why Myspace is becoming the desolate wasteland of the internet.

They said that myspace was visited by young people and that this type of image was not permited. It's a bunch of BS…
Publish your basic work and leave it alone, myspace is not made for exhibiting art work, it's good for making new contacts and giving news but that's about all. If you have new work you want to show just publish new links on your front page. As long as it's not porno you shouldn't have any trouble. Myspace is like prime time tv!…

And yes Claude, I think I will leave it for my basic stuff for now on. They removed a different picture of mine from there some months ago before I had a website, that worried me a little as it was my only place to post things and 'network'. But now, I can put it elsewhere, and somewhere more credible too. I just felt like I should say something as they mentioned deleting my account, which annoyed me.
Mr Fantastic, I know what you mean. They even have bands on there with offensive names and even more questionable music, but that doesn't seem to be an issue.
And the sex and nudity thing drives me crazy! People should be able to embrace nudity and not feel ashamed of it.
Yes is very pathetic, the same as happened to me, but do what? Facebook game, facebook rules!!! The problem is not in your draws but in the people’s mind, so, we can do nothing. This society is based in fake morals and values, so, children can´t see nudity (or anything like that), but they all days in television see, violence, explicit sex, corruption and many other things, so, compare with that, a naked body is just something so simple and natural, it’s just our body, it look’s in the most of cases, the same thing for everybody.
